Abstract

A method for thermal and mechanical treatment of high-strength beta-titanium alloys involves preliminary rapid heating of alloy before the first deformation to temperatures in the range from the temperature of finishing of polymorph conversion (Tpc) to Tpc+80 °C. Every heating after deformation is carried out to the temperature of finishing recrystallization in the alloy. All heating operations are carried out at a rate of 5-100 °C s-1. After every heating the alloy is tempered at a rate of cooling of not less than 100 °C s-1. Final ageing is carried out at the temperature lower than standard one for every treated alloy by 30-70°C.
