Abstract

A junction box for a data network has a box housing (11) and a circuit board (21) mounted therein and supporting data socket. The box has an insertion opening (19, 45) (11), through which a final segment of a multi-core, screened data cable (20, 20') can be inserted, characterized in that the insertion opening (19, 45) is provided in the region, averted from the connecting flange (12), of the box housing (11, 41) in such a way that the central axis (35) of the final segment of the data cable (20, 20') can be inserted into the box housing aligned at a right angle to the flange plane (13), and can be attached in this alignment in a fashion permanently installed with respect to the circuit board (21, 39).
