Description
30 35 508 451 är värmeförseglat till huvudsakligen vätsketätt tillstånd åt- minstone i de centrala delarna av denna ändyta, och att 2 fibrer i absorptionskroppen är genom insmältning bundna vid höljet inom dettas värmeförseglade område.
Uppfinningen avser även ett sätt att tillverka en dylik tampong. Värmeförseglingen utföres därvid företrädesvis medelst en varm dorn eller liknande genom att dornen och den höljeförsedda tampongens ändyta sammantryckes, hålles i berö- ring med varandra tills det termoplastiska höljematerialet sammansmält till huvudsakligen vätsketätt tillstånd, och därefter åter föres isär.
Det smälta höljesmaterialet bildar ett mer eller mindre vätsketätt område vid tampongens snörände, varigenom läckage förhindras. Det är ej nödvändigt att fullständig vätsketäthet uppnås, men säkerheten mot läckage ökar med ökande täthet.
Det smälta höljesmaterialet stabiliserar även tampongens ände och förhindrar att den sväller när tampongen absorberar kroppsvätska.
Om det värmeförseglade området på ändytan ej når ut till tampongens mantelyta bibehålles maximal mjukhet i mantelytan.
Utan att det vållar obehag är det emellertid möjligt att utsträcka det värmeförseglade området över hela ändytan och eventuellt ett stycke upp längs mantelytan. Härigenom blir säkerheten mot vätskeläckage ännu större och dessutom vinnes markant ökad stabilitet för tampongens snörände, varigenom införande och avlägsnande av tampongen underlättas.
Det termoplastiska materialet i höljet är företrädesvis ovävt textilmaterial (non-woven). Andra typer av material såsom perforerad plastfilm eller nät av termoplastiskt material är tänkbara. Lämpliga material är alla värmesmältbara plaster såsom polyeten och polypropen. Plasterna kan förekomma i blandningar eller i form av bikomponentfibrer. Företrädesvis är tampongens hela hölje utfört av ett och samma material, vilket underlättar tillverkningen. 10 15 20 25 30 35 508 451 Ett utföringsexempel av uppfinningen beskrivs nedan närmare under hänvisning till åtföljande ritning, där fig. 1 i genom- skärning schematiskt visar en känd tampong under ett skede av dess tillverkning, och fig. 2 från sidan och delvis i axiell genomskärning visar en tampong enligt uppfinningen. 3 En rektangulär bana 1 av absorptionsmaterial är spiralformigt hoprullad så att flera lindningsvarv bildas, av vilka figuren visar två. Banans lindningsvarv bildar en cylindrisk absorp- tionskropp 2 med en central, axiell genomgående kanal 3.
Absorptionsmaterialet kan vara av lämpligt känt slag, exem- pelvis fibervadd av absorberande cellulosafibrer såsom rayon eller bomull. Absorptionskroppen kan vidare innefatta en mindre mängd termoplastiska bindfibrer eller liknande för att stabilisera den färdiga tampongen.
Ett hölje 4 av ovävt termoplastiskt textilmaterial, non- woven, är anbragt över absorptionskroppens 2 hela mantelyta.
Höljet 4 har större axiell längd än absorptionskroppen 2 och dess överskjutande ändpartier 5 resp. 6 är invikta i den centrala kanalen 3. Ett snöre 7 är förankrat vid absorptions- kroppen genom att det är lagt i en slinga runt ett av lind- ningsvarven 1. Snörets 7 ändar är förda ut ur absorptions- kroppen 2 genom dennas centrala kanal 3.
Det i fig. 1 visade tampongämnet komprimeras eller samman- pressas därefter främst radiellt till en stavformig tampong.
En sådan visas från sidan och delvis uppskuren i fig. 2, allmänt betecknad 8. Figur 2 visar även schematiskt en upp- värmd dorn 9 anordnad mitt för tampongens 8 snörände 10.
Dornen 9 är rörlig axiellt mot och från snöränden 10, vilket antydes med en dubbelpil P. När tampongämnet i fig. 1 samman- pressats till slutlig form tryckes dornen 9 mot ändytan 10.
Dornens 9 temperatur är så vald i förhållande till det termo- plastiska materialet i höljet 4 att detta material smälter vid kontakt med dornen 9 och bildar ett väsentligen vätske- tätt plastskikt 11 på tampongens 8 ändyta 10. När plastskik- tet 11 bildats avlägsnas dornen åter från beröring med ändy- tan 10. Såsom framgår av figuren åstadkommer dornen 9 en 10 15 20 508 451 4 grund fördjupning 12 i ändytan 10. Inom hela ytan för det smälta plastskiktet 11 är nu tampongens ände vätsketät och förhindrar därigenom läckage. När höljesmaterialet smälter och sedan åter stelnar binder det anliggande fibrer i absorp- tionskroppen 2, varigenom tampongen stabiliseras i detta område och höljet 4 förankras vid absorptionskroppen 2.
Vid det i fig. 2 visade utföringsexemplet har dornen 9 mindre diameter än tampongens ändyta 10. Alternativt kan istället för denna dorn 9 användas en uppvärmd platta eller liknande för värmeförsegling av hela ändytan, varigenom ökat skydd mot läckage erhålles. Det är dessutom möjligt att med lämpliga medel värmeförsegla höljesmaterialet även på tampongens mantelyta intill ändytan 10. Förutom bättre läckageskydd vinnes därigenom ökad stabilisering av tampongens ände så att den ej vidgar sig när den absorberar kroppsvätska.
Ovan har beskrivits att dornen 9 bringas i rörelse mot och från tampongens ändyta 10. Om så är lämpligt vid tillverk- ningen kan naturligtvis alternativt dornen 9 vara stilla- stående och tampongen rörlig.
Claims (10)
1. Menstruationstampong innefattande en väsentligen cylind- risk, fiberhaltig absorptionskropp (2), ett med tampongen (8) förbundet utdragningssnöre (7), som lämnar tampongen vid dess ena ände (10), snöränden, samt ett vätskegenomträngligt hölje (4), som innefattar termoplastiskt material och omsluter ab- sorptionskroppen (2) åtminstone vid dess snörände (10), k ä n n e t e c k n a d av att höljet (4) på snörändens (10) yta är värmeförseglat till huvudsakligen vätsketätt tillstånd (11) åtminstone i de centrala delarna av denna ändyta, och att fibrer i absorptionskroppen (2) är genom insmältning bundna vid höljet (4) inom dettas värmeförseglade område.
2. Tampong enligt krav 1, k ä n n e t e c k n a d av att det värmeförseglade området (11) har mindre diameter än snör- änden (10).
3. Tampong enligt krav 1, k ä n n e t e c k n a d av att det termoplastiska höljesmaterialet (4) sträcker sig upp över absorptionskroppens (2) mantelyta och är värmeförseglat även inom mantelytans invid snörändytan (10) belägna del.

Sätt att framställa en menstruationstampong innefattande en väsentligen cylindrisk, fiberhaltig absorptionskropp (2), ett med tampongen (8) förbundet utdragningssnöre (7), som lämnar tampongen vid dess ena ände (10), snöränden, samt ett vätskegenomträngligt hölje (4), som innefattar termoplastiskt material och omsluter absorptionskroppen (2) åtminstone vid dess snörände (10), varvid den av höljet (4) omslutna abs- orptionskroppen (2) komprimeras, k ä n n e t e c k n a t av att efter sagda komprimering höljet (4) på snörändens (10) yta värmeförseglas till huvudsakligen vätsketätt tillstånd (ll) i åtminstone de centrala delarna av denna yta, varvid fibrer i absorptionskroppen (2) genom insmältning binds vid höljet (4) inom dettas värmeförseglingsområde.
9. Sätt enligt krav 8, k ä n n e t e c k n a t av att värmeförseglingen åstadkommes medelst en varm dorn (9) eller värmekropp genom att dornen och den höljeförsedda tampongens (8) ändyta (10) sammantryckes, hålles i beröring med varandra tills det termoplastiska höljesmaterialet sammansmälts till huvudsakligen vätsketätt tillstånd (11), och därefter åter föres isär.
10. Sätt enligt krav 8 eller 9, k ä n n e t e c k n a t av att även höljesmaterial (4) på tampongens (8) mantelyta invid snöränden (10) värmeförseglas till huvudsakligen vätsketätt tillstånd.
