Abstract
FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: introduction into deoxidized steel smelt of powder oxide manganese-containing material, reducing agents, and fusion agent is performed in one step using a mixture of oxide manganese-containing material (66-75 wt %) with fluorospar (1-5 wt %), and a material selected from the group including aluminium, ferrosilicium, and silicocalcium (the balance). The mixture is introduced into the smelt in the form of a shell powder wire in amount 20-55 Nkg per 1 t of steel where N (in wt %) is required increment in manganese content in final steel.
