Abstract

The invention relates to a microorganism producing pullulan-type polysaccharides, said microorganism being a strain of Aureo-basidium pullulans I.C.C.F.-83 registered in the colection of the Chemical-Pharmaceutical Research Institute (I.C.C.F.) under the number 211 and being presented as hyaline, pearled, oblong cells lacking pigmentation potential and having smooth-type colonies which achieve a complete fermentation of fructose, glucose, xylose, having the capacity of quick consumption of the carbon source with initial concentration of up to 10% and an improved pullulan synthesis capacity.
