The present invention relates to an anti-corrosive coating material which is excellent in storage stability as well as physical properties such as rust-proofing property and water-resistance, and which is easy to apply in the field, by including ethyl silicate resin, zinc powder, extender pigment and solvent.

In particular, due to the nature of the shop primer that performs line work, the delay of the stirring operation can have a great influence on the whole process because it performs a rapid continuous operation.

Therefore, there is still a demand for an anticorrosive coating material which is excellent in storage stability of a coating material even if it contains zinc, and can satisfy the specifications of a shop primer for steel bridge.

An object of the present invention is to provide an anti-corrosive coating material which is excellent in storage stability as well as physical properties such as rust-proofing property and water-resistance, and which is easy to apply in the field, by including ethyl silicate resin, zinc powder, extender pigment and solvent.

The anti-corrosive coating composition of the present invention comprises 5 to 20 parts by weight of an ethyl silicate resin, 20 to 40 parts by weight of zinc powder, 5 to 30 parts by weight of an extender pigment and 35 to 60 parts by weight of a solvent based on 100 parts by weight of the total composition.

The anti-corrosive coating material of the present invention is excellent in appearance as well as physical properties such as rust resistance, water resistance and storage stability by appropriately mixing ethyl silicate resin, zinc powder and extender pigment. Therefore, when applied to storage and field applications, especially to steel bridge and plant shop primer line, it is possible to perform smooth work due to excellent storage stability distinguished from conventional paints.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail.

The anti-corrosive coating composition of the present invention comprises 5 to 20 parts by weight of an ethyl silicate resin, 20 to 40 parts by weight of zinc powder, 5 to 30 parts by weight of an extender pigment and 35 to 60 parts by weight of a solvent based on 100 parts by weight of the total composition.

The anti-corrosive coating composition of the present invention has a silica content of 35 to 60% by weight and an acidity (HCl content in the resin) of less than 70 ppm, For example, 1 to 65 ppm, a viscosity of 4 to 7 cps at 25 占 폚, and a specific gravity of 1.04 to 1.07. When the content of the silica is out of the above range, there is a problem that the appearance becomes poor, and when the acidity is high, the storage stability of the paint becomes short.

The zinc powder used in the anti-corrosive coating composition of the present invention serves as a rust preventive pigment and is not particularly limited. The composition of the present invention may have a weight ratio of ethyl silicate resin: zinc powder of 1: 2 to 1: 4. If the weight ratio is too low or too large, rust resistance, storage stability and adhesion may be deteriorated.

Although the conventional anticorrosive coating composition contains an excessive amount of zinc powder for obtaining anticorrosion property, zinc has a problem of poor storage property due to precipitation of expensive pigment. The anticorrosive paint composition of the present invention has a reduced zinc content and is superior in storage stability as compared with the conventional zinc rust preventive paint composition, and can also ensure excellent rust resistance even with a relatively small amount of zinc.

The extender pigments used in the rust-preventive coating composition of the present invention serve to improve the scratch resistance and rust-preventive properties, and are not particularly limited, and talc, barium sulfate, mica, silica and combinations thereof may be used.

The anti-corrosive coating composition of the present invention may contain 5 to 30 parts by weight, such as 10 to 28 parts by weight, for example, 15 to 25 parts by weight, of extender pigment relative to 100 parts by weight of the total composition. If the content of the extender pigment is too small, the improvement in the scratch resistance and the rust prevention property can not be expected, and if the content is too large, the workability may be deteriorated.

The solvent used for the anti-corrosive coating composition of the present invention may be selected from among xylene, toluene, alcohol, propylene glycol methyl ether, ketone, and combinations thereof, though it is not particularly limited and may improve the wettability and workability of the substrate. , And isobutyl alcohol can be used as the alcohol.

The anti-corrosive coating composition of the present invention may contain 35 to 60 parts by weight, for example, 35 to 55 parts by weight, for example, 35 to 50 parts by weight, of the solvent relative to 100 parts by weight of the total composition. The anti-corrosive coating composition of the present invention may further comprise at least one additive selected from thickeners, moisture absorbers, color pigments, acids, antifoaming agents and dispersants. As can be seen from the above results, the rust-preventive paints of Examples 1 to 4 of the present invention had less zinc than the conventional rust-preventive paints, so that no precipitation occurred at room temperature and high temperature storage, It was also found that the rust-preventive property and the water resistance were excellent. However, in the case of the comparative example, since the zinc content is high, precipitation occurs in the same manner as the conventional anticorrosive paint, and the storage stability is poor.

Therefore, the anticorrosive paint of the present invention can be usefully used especially in steel bridge and plant shop primer line due to excellent storability and rust prevention property.

Claims (5)

5 to 20 parts by weight of an ethyl silicate resin, 20 to 40 parts by weight of zinc powder, 5 to 30 parts by weight of an extender pigment and 35 to 60 parts by weight of a solvent based on 100 parts by weight of the total composition.
