Abstract
Description
Claims (13)
- 제1 및 제2 통신 네트워크 사이에서 타이트 커플링 배치(tight coupling arrangement)를 구현하여, 모바일 단말(mobile terminal)이 상기 제1 및 제2 통신 네트워크를 통해 제3 통신 네트워크와 통신하도록 하기 위한 방법에 있어서,(a) 상기 제1 통신 네트워크에서, 상기 모바일 단말이 상기 제2 통신 네트워크를 통해 가로질러 가지 않고도(without traversing) 상기 제1 통신 네트워크를 통해 상기 제3 통신 네트워크와 통신할 수 있도록 하는, 루스 커플링 배치(loose coupling arrangement) 내에서 동작하도록 구성된 프로토콜 스택들을 갖는 액세스 포인트를 제공하는 단계;(b) 상기 모바일 단말에서, 상기 제2 통신 네트워크의 액세스 장치 내의 대응 무선 네트워크 제어기 프로토콜 스택들(radio network controller protocol stacks)과 직접 인터페이스하는 무선 네트워크 제어기 프로토콜 스택들을 제공하는 단계; 및(c) 상기 제2 통신 네트워크의 상기 액세스 장치에서, 상기 모바일 단말 무선 네트워크 제어기 프로토콜 스택들과 인터페이스하기 위한 상기 대응 무선 네트워크 제어기 프로토콜 스택들을 제공하는 단계 -이에 의해, 상기 모바일 단말은 상기 액세스 장치와 인터페이스하여, 상기 제2 통신 네트워크를 가로질러 가서 타이트 커플링 배치 내에서 상기 제3 통신 네트워크와 통신할 수 있음-를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 통신 네트워크는 IEEE 802 표준들에 따르는 무선랜(wireless local area network)을 포함하며, 상기 제2 통신 네트워크는 셀룰러 네트워크(cellular network)를 포함하는 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 제2 통신 네트워크의 상기 액세스 장치는 SGSN(serving GPRS support node)을 포함하는 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 단계 (b)는, 상기 액세스 포인트에서, 접속을 수립하고 설정하기 위한 RANAP 프로토콜의 부분집합을 포함하는 제어 데이터 프로토콜 스택을 제공하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 단계 (a)는, 상기 액세스 포인트에서, Radio/WLAN MAC/EAPOL/Diameter/ TCP 프로토콜들을 포함하는 프로토콜 스택을 제공하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 단계 (c)는, 상기 제2 통신 네트워크의 상기 액세스 장치에서, 상기 접속을 수립하고 설정하기 위한 RANAP 프로토콜의 상기 부분집합을 포함하는 제어 데이터 프로토콜 스택을 제공하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 단계 (b)는, 상기 모바일 단말에서, GTP-U/UDP/IP/WLAN MAC 프로토콜들을 포함하는 사용자 데이터 프로토콜 스택을 제공하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 단계 (a)는, 상기 액세스 포인트에서, Radio/WLAN MAC/Link/Physical Layer 프로토콜들을 포함하는 사용자 데이터 프로토콜 스택을 제공하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 단계 (c)는, 상기 제2 통신 네트워크의 상기 액세스 장치에서, GTU-U/ UDP/IP/Link/Physical Layer 프로토콜들을 포함하는 사용자 데이터 프로토콜 스택을 제공하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 무선랜(WLAN)과 통신하여 상기 WLAN 및 셀룰러 네트워크를 통해 통신 네트워크에 액세스하기 위기 위한 모바일 단말에 있어서,사용자 데이터 및 제어 데이터를, 상기 셀룰러 네트워크와 상기 WLAN 사이에서의 루스 커플링을 위해 구성된 WLAN 액세스 포인트와 통신하기 위한 수단; 및타이트 커플링 배치에서 상기 셀룰러 네트워크와 상기 WLAN을 통하여 상기 모바일 단말이 상기 통신 네트워크와 통신할 수 있도록 하기 위한 무선 네트워크 제어기 프로토콜 스택들을 포함하는 모바일 단말.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 무선 네트워크 제어기 프로토콜 스택은, 상기 셀룰러 네트워크, 상기 WLAN 및 상기 모바일 단말 사이에서 접속을 수립하기 위한 RAL/EAP/EAPOL/WLANMAC 프로토콜 스택을 포함하는 제어 데이터 프로토콜 스택을 포함하는 모바일 단말.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 RAL 프로토콜은 상기 접속을 수립하기 위한 RANAP 프로토콜의 부분집합을 포함하는 모바일 단말.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 무선 네트워크 제어기 프로토콜 스택은 GTPU/UDPIP/WLANMAC 프로토콜들을 포함하는 사용자 데이터 프로토콜 스택을 포함하는 모바일 단말.
