종래에는 직선 접속함중 미가교 상태의 절연용 테이프를 원형으로 테이핑한 후 가교 공정을 거쳐 완제품을 성형하는 몰드형 접속함에 적용하기 위한 것으로써, 종래에는 접속함의 외부에 방수용 혼화물(컴파운드)만을 주입하여 현장에서 설치하게 된다. 도 1은 종래의 고압 케이블용 몰드타입 접속함을 개략적으로 나타낸 도면으로써, 도 1을 참조하여 종래의 몰드타입인 고압케이블용 접속함을 설명하면, 두 개의 케이블(12)을 상호 접속시킨 후 접속부위의 외주면에 접속함(10)을 조립시킨다. 상기 접속함(10)이 두 개의 케이블(12)이 접속된 부위에 조립되므로 써 접속함(10)이 두 개의 케이블(12)을 가압하게 되며 접속된 케이블(12)은 단단하게 고정된다. 상기 접속함(10)이 케이블(12)의 외주면에 조립시킨 후 접속함(10)의 외주면에 보호용 동관(14)을 설치 함으로써 접속함(10)을 보호하게 된다. 상기 보호용 동관(14)의 내부에는 일정한 공간이 구비되며, 상기 보호용 동관(14)의 내부에 구비되는 공간에는 절연 및 방수기능을 하는 혼화물(18)이 충진된다. 상기 보호용 동관(14)의 양측단에는 혼화물(18)이 누설되지 않도록 씰링 스토퍼(16)가 착설된다. 이와같은 구조를 갖는 종래의 케이블(12) 및 접속함(10)은 통전시 케이블(12)로부터 발생되는 열이 접속함(10)에 인가되고, 상기 접속함(10)에 인가되는 열에 의해 송전용량을 증대시키지 못할 뿐만 아니라 열적 불안정성을 야기하는 문제점이 있다.Conventionally, the tape is applied to a mold-type junction box in which a non-crosslinked insulating tape is rounded and then molded into a finished product in a straight junction box.
