Claims (24)
- 광학 결합기로서 광학 디바이스를 포함하는 니어-투-아이 디스플레이(near-to-eye display; NED)로서, 상기 광학 디바이스는:
투명 기판,
상기 기판에 입사하는 광을 회절시켜 전반사들(total internal reflections)을 통해 상기 기판으로 전파하기 위한 수단, 및
상기 기판 내에서 전파되어 상기 기판으로부터 나오는 광을 회절시키도록 구성되는 아웃-커플링 격자
를 포함하고, 상기 아웃-커플링 격자는:
상이한 굴절율들을 갖는 주기적으로 교번적인 구역들을 포함하며 제 1 층 두께를 갖는 제 1 투명 격자 층을 포함하고,
상기 아웃-커플링 격자는, 상기 제 1 격자 층의 위에 위치되고, 제 2 층 두께를 가지고, 상이한 굴절율들을 갖는 주기적으로 교번적인 구역들을 또한 포함하는 제 2 투명 격자 층을 더 포함함으로써, 더 높은 굴절율을 갖는 상기 제 1 격자 층의 구역들이 더 낮은 굴절율을 갖는 상기 제 2 격자 층의 구역들과 정렬되고 더 낮은 굴절율을 갖는 상기 제 1 격자 층의 구역들이 더 높은 굴절율을 갖는 상기 제 2 격자 층의 구역들과 정렬되며,
상기 제 1 및 제 2 격자 층들의 주기, 층 두께들 및 굴절율들은, 450 내지 650nm의 파장 범위에 걸쳐서, 제 1 투과 차수의 회절 효율을 제 1 반사 차수의 회절 효율보다 더 낮게 만들도록 구성되는,
