Abstract
본 발명의 특징은 어레이기판의 게이트 및 데이터패드단자전극이 형성된 비표시영역에 보호금속층을 더욱 형성하고, 컬러필터기판을 레이저를 이용하여 완전히 절단되도록 하는 것이다.
이를 통해, 컬러필터기판으로 조사되는 레이저에 의해 어레이기판의 게이트 및 데이터패드단자전극이 손상되는 것을 방지할 수 있으며, 브레이크 공정을 삭제할 수 있어, 기판의 절단면에 커팅버(cutting burr)가 발생되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
따라서, 액정표시장치의 베젤영역이 넓어지는 것을 방지할 수 있으며, 커팅버로 인하여 회로보드 간을 연결하는 신호전달 연결 부재인 케이블이 손상되는 것을 방지할 수 있다. 이를 통해, 액정패널의 구동 동작 불량이 발생하거나 회로부가 손상되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.

Claims (8)
- 표시영역과 비표시영역이 정의된 제 1 및 제 2 기판을 제공하는 단계와;
상기 제 1 기판의 상기 비표시영역에 보호금속층을 형성하는 단계와;
상기 제 1 기판과 상기 제 2 기판 중 하나의 상기 비표시영역에 실런트를 도포하는 단계와;
상기 제 1 및 제 2 기판을 합착하고, 상기 제 1 및 제 2 기판 사이에 액정층을 개재하는 단계와;
상기 실런트를 경화시켜 실패턴을 형성하는 단계와;
상기 제 2 기판의 상부로부터 상기 실패턴의 외측으로 레이저를 조사하여, 상기 제 2 기판을 절단하는 단계와;
상기 보호금속층을 제거하는 단계를 포함하고,
상기 비표시영역에는 게이트 및 데이터패드전극과 게이트 및 데이터링크배선 그리고 게이트 및 데이터패드전극단자가 형성되며, 상기 보호금속층은 상기 게이트 및 데이터패드전극과 상기 게이트 및 데이터링크배선 그리고 상기 게이트 및 데이터패드전극단자를 덮는 액정패널의 제조방법.
- 삭제
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 보호금속층은 반사율이 90% 이상인, 크롬(Cr), 알루미늄(Al), 몰리브덴(Mo), 은(Ag) 및 금(Au) 중 선택된 하나로 이루어지는 액정패널의 제조방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 보호금속층은 식각액에 디핑하거나, 식각액을 스프레이 하여 제거하는 액정패널의 제조방법.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,
상기 식각액은 상기 게이트 및 데이터패드단자전극과 반응하지 않는 물질로 이루어지는 액정패널의 제조방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 기판은 게이트 및 데이터배선과 상기 게이트 및 데이터배선의 교차부에 박막트랜지스터가 위치하는 어레이기판이며, 상기 제 2 기판은 상기 표시영역에 컬러필터와 블랙매트릭스가 형성된 컬러필터기판인 액정패널의 제조방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 제 2 기판을 절단하는 단계는, 상기 제 1 기판의 하부로부터 상기 비표시영역의 외측으로 레이저를 조사하여 상기 제 1 기판을 절단하는 단계를 포함하는 액정패널의 제조방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 제 1및 제 2 기판은 각각 상기 실패턴을 포함하여 액정패널이 되는 다수의 단위 셀로 형성되는 액정패널의 제조방법.
