기체(2)의 표면에 TiaAlbNbdMe(C1 - xNx)(단, M은 Si, W, Mo, Ta, Hf, Cr, Zr 및 Y로부터 선택되는 적어도 1종, 0.1≤a≤0.7, 0≤b≤0.8, 0.02≤d≤0.25, 0≤e≤0.25, a+b+d+e=1, 0≤x≤1)로 이루어지는 피복층(6)을 피복해서 이루어짐과 아울러 절삭면(3)과, 여유면(4)과, 절삭면(3)과 여유면(4) 사이에 위치하는 절삭날(5)을 갖고, 또한 피복층(6)의 표면에 액적(7)이 존재하고, 여유면(4)에는 입경이 300㎚ 이하인 미세 액적(7a)이 절삭면(3)보다 다량 존재하고, 여유면(4)에 존재하는 입경이 1000㎚ 이상인 조대 액적(7b)의 평균 조성이 절삭면(3)에 존재하는 조대 액적(7b)의 평균 조성에 비하여 Nb의 함유 비율이 높은 절삭 공구(1)이다.

- 기체의 표면에 TiaAlbNbdMe(C1-xNx)(단, M은 Si, W, Mo, Ta, Hf, Cr, Zr 및 Y로부터 선택되는 적어도 1종, 0.1≤a≤0.7, 0≤b≤0.8, 0.02≤d≤0.25, 0≤e≤0.25, a+b+d+e=1, 0≤x≤1)로 이루어지는 피복층을 피복하여 이루어짐과 아울러, 절삭면과, 여유면과, 절삭면 및 여유면 사이에 위치하는 절삭날을 갖고, 또한 상기 피복층의 표면에 액적이 존재하며, 상기 여유면에는 입경이 300㎚ 이하인 미세 액적이 상기 절삭면보다 다량 존재하고, 상기 여유면에 존재하는 입경이 1000㎚ 이상인 조대 액적의 평균 조성이 상기 절삭면에 존재하는 상기 조대 액적의 평균 조성에 비하여 Nb의 함유 비율이 높고,
상기 여유면에 존재하는 조대 액적의 조성은 원자비에 있어서 금속/비금속의 비율이 1.2보다 크고, 또한 원자비에 있어서 금속/비금속의 비율이 상기 조대 액적의 표면으로부터 내부를 향해서 높아져 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 절삭 공구. - 제 1 항에 있어서,

상기 제 2층의 조성에 있어서 M은 Cr이고, a2=0, 0.3≤b2≤0.9, d2=0, 0.1≤e2≤0.7, 0≤x2≤1이며, 상기 제 2층이 Alb2Cre2(C1-x2Nx2)로 나타내어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 절삭 공구. - 기체의 표면에 TiaAlbNbdMe(C1-xNx)(단, M은 Si, W, Mo, Ta, Hf, Cr, Zr 및 Y로부터 선택되는 적어도 1종, 0.1≤a≤0.7, 0≤b≤0.8, 0.02≤d≤0.25, 0≤e≤0.25, a+b+d+e=1, 0≤x≤1)로 이루어지는 피복층을 피복하여 이루어짐과 아울러, 절삭면과, 여유면과, 절삭면 및 여유면 사이에 위치하는 절삭날을 갖고, 또한 상기 피복층의 표면에 액적이 존재하며, 상기 여유면에는 입경이 300㎚ 이하인 미세 액적이 상기 절삭면보다 다량 존재하고, 상기 여유면에 존재하는 입경이 1000㎚ 이상인 조대 액적의 평균 조성이 상기 절삭면에 존재하는 상기 조대 액적의 평균 조성에 비하여 Nb의 함유 비율이 높고,
상기 피복층은 Tia1Alb1Nbd1Me1(C1-x1Nx1)(단, 0≤a1≤0.8, 0≤b1≤0.6, 0.02≤d1≤0.4, 0≤e1≤0.4, a1+b1+d1+e1=1, 0≤x1≤1)로 나타내어지는 제 1층과, Tia2Alb2Nbd2Me2(C1-x2Nx2)(단, 0≤a2≤0.5, 0.2≤b2≤0.8, 0≤d2≤0.25, 0≤e2≤0.7, a2+b2+d2+e2=1, 0≤x2≤1, a1=a2 또한 b1=b2 또한 d1=d2 또한 e1=e2는 제외한다)로 나타내어지는 제 2층이 합계로 10층 이상 반복해서 교대로 적층된 구성으로 이루어지고,
상기 제 2층의 조성에 있어서 M은 Cr이고, a2=0, 0.3≤b2≤0.9, d2=0, 0.1≤e2≤0.7, 0≤x2≤1이며, 상기 제 2층이 Alb2Cre2(C1-x2Nx2)로 나타내어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 절삭 공구.
