Claims (10)
- 광원 (BL), 반사형 직선 편광층 (Pr1), 복굴절층 (A), 광원측 흡수형 직선 편광층 (P1), 액정 셀 (LC), 시인측 직선 편광층 (P2) 이 이 순서로 배치되고, 하기의 a ∼ c 의 모두를 만족하는 투과형 액정 표시 장치 :a. 반사형 직선 편광층 (Pr1) 의 투과축과 광원측 흡수형 직선 편광층 (P1) 의 투과축이 평행하게 배치되어 있다 ;b. 상기 복굴절층의 두께 방향 리타데이션 Rth 가 250㎚ ≤ Rth ≤ 6000㎚ 를 만족한다 ;c. 광원 (BL) 으로부터 출사되어, 반사형 직선 편광층 (Pr1) 을 투과한 직선 편광 중, 정면 방향의 광은 복굴절층 (A) 에 의해 실질적으로 그 편광 상태가 변환되지 않고, 경사 방향의 광은 복굴절층 (A) 에 의해 편광 상태가 변환된다.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 복굴절층 (A) 의 정면 리타데이션 Re 가 10㎚ 이상, 100㎚ 이하이며, 복굴절층 (A) 의 지상축과 상기 반사형 직선 편광층 (Pr1) 의 투과축이 이루는 각이 평행 또는 수직인, 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 복굴절층 (A) 의 정면 리타데이션 Re 가 20㎚ 이하인, 투과형 액정 표 시 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 복굴절층 (A) 의 정면 리타데이션 Re 및 두께 방향 리타데이션 Rth 가 400㎚ ≤ Rth - 2 × Re ≤ 800㎚ 의 관계를 만족하는, 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 복굴절층 (A) 과 상기 광원측 흡수형 직선 편광층 (P1) 사이에, 광원측 흡수형 직선 편광층 (P1) 과 투과축이 평행이 되도록 반사형 직선 편광층 (Pr2) 을 갖는, 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 복굴절층 (A) 과 상기 광원측 흡수형 직선 편광층 (P1) 사이에 광원측 광확산층 (D1) 을 갖는, 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 시인측 직선 편광층 (P2) 보다 시인측에 시인측 광확산층 (D2) 을 갖는, 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 반사형 직선 편광층 (Pr1) 과 상기 복굴절층 (A), 상기 광원측 흡수형 직선 편광층 (P1) 이 점착제에 의해 부착 일체화되어 있는, 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 투과형 액정 표시 장치에 사용되는 적층 편광판으로서, 반사형 직선 편광층 (Pr1), 복굴절층 (A), 광원측 흡수형 직선 편광층 (P1) 이 이 순서로 배치되어 있는, 적층 편광판.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 투과형 액정 표시 장치에 사용되는 편광 광원 장치로서, 광원 (BL), 반사형 직선 편광층 (Pr1), 복굴절층 (A), 광원측 흡수형 직선 편광층 (P1) 이 이 순서로 배치되어 있는, 편광 광원 장치.
