Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 주사 전극 및 유지 전극과 데이터 전극과의 교차부에 방전 셀을 형성해서 이루어지는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동 방법으로서,1필드 기간은 초기화 기간, 기입 기간 및 유지 기간을 갖는 복수의 서브필드로 구성되고,또한 상기 복수의 서브필드의 초기화 기간은, 화상 표시를 행하는 모든 방전 셀에서 초기화 방전을 발생시키는 전체 셀 초기화 동작과, 상기 주사 전극에 전압 Vq부터 0V 이하의 전압 Va를 향해서 완만하게 하강하는 전압을 인가함으로써, 직전의 서브필드에 있어서 유지 방전을 발생한 방전 셀에 대하여 선택적으로 초기화 방전을 발생시키는 선택 초기화 동작 중 어느 하나의 초기화 동작을 행하도록 구성하고,또한, 상기 전체 셀 초기화 동작을 실행시키는 초기화 기간은,화상 표시를 행하는 모든 방전 셀의 주사 전극에 대해서 방전 개시 전압 이하의 전압 Vp부터 방전 개시 전압을 초과하는 전압 Vr을 향해서 완만하게 상승하는 상향 경사 파형 전압을 인가함과 아울러 유지 전극을 0V로 유지하고, 상기 주사 전극을 양극으로 하며 상기 유지 전극 및 상기 데이터 전극을 음극으로 하는 제 1 초기화 방전을 행하는 초기화 기간 전반부와,상기 주사 전극에 상기 전압 Vr보다 작은 전압 Vg부터 상기 전압 Va를 향해서 완만하게 하강하는 하향 경사 파형 전압을 인가함과 아울러 상기 유지 전극을 양의 전압 Vh로 유지하고, 상기 주사 전극을 음극으로 하며 상기 유지 전극 및 상기 데이터 전극을 양극으로 하는 제 2 초기화 방전을 행하는 초기화 기간 후반부와,상기 주사 전극에 방전 개시 전압 이하의 양의 직사각형 파형 전압 Vm을 인가함과 아울러 유지 전극을 0V으로 유지하고, 상기 제 2 초기화 방전 후의 방전 셀에 대해서 선택적으로 자기 소거 방전을 발생시키는 이상 전하 소거부를 마련한 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동 방법.
