- a) 로듐 또는 코발트 또는 로듐과 코발트의 혼합물을 포함하는 균질 촉매의 존재하에 초-주위온도 및 압력에서 올레핀을 일산화탄소 및 수소와 반응시켜, 상기 로듐 및(또는) 코발트 촉매를 함유하는 반응생성물 스트림을 형성시키는 단계, 및b) 반응생성물 스트림의 적어도 일부분을 5 바아 게이지를 초과하지 않는 압력 및 120℃ 이하의 온도에서 염기성 이온교환수지와 접촉시켜, 그 안에 존재하는 로듐 및(또는) 코발트의 적어도 일부분을 상기 수지에 결합시키는 단계를 포함하는, 하이드로포르밀화 방법.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,c) 결합된 로듐 및(또는) 코발트 종을 함유하는 상기 염기성 이온교환수지를 회화시켜, 로듐 및(또는) 코발트를 금속 및(또는) 금속 옥사이드로서 함유하는 회를 생성시키는 단계,d) 잔류하는 회로부터 상기 금속 및(또는) 옥사이드를 분리시키는 단계, 및e) 임의로, 상기 분리된 금속 또는 옥사이드를 단계 (a)를 위한 균질 촉매로 사용될 수 있는 형태로 전환시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 하이드로포르밀화 방법.
- 제 8 항 또는 9 항에 있어서, 반응생성물 스트림을 이온교환수지와 접촉시킨 후에 수소화반응 단계 및(또는) 분리단계에 통과시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 하이드로포르밀화 방법.

- 제 8 항에 있어서, 반응생성물 스트림을 이온교환수지와 접촉시키기 전에 탈기시키는 방법.
- 제 8 항에 있어서, 반응생성물 스트림이 하나 이상의 칼럼으로 보내질 수 있고, 적어도 하나의 칼럼은 생성물 스트림의 흐름으로부터 분리될 수 있도록 하는 방식으로 적어도 두개의 이온교환칼럼이 함께 연결되어 있는 것인 방법.
- 제 8 항에 있어서, 적어도 두개의 이온교환칼럼을 이들이 연속적으로 작동하도록 함께 연결시키는 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 수지를 회화시키기 전에 100 내지 500℃의 온도에서 건조시키는 방법.
