Claims (16)
- 영상을 표시하기 위한 다수의 화소를 가지며, 상기 화소는 각각 두개의 유지 전극인 X 전극 및 Y 전극 그리고 하나의 어드레스 전극을 가지는 교류형 PDP의 구동을 위한 초기화 기간 동안의 명암비 향상방법에 있어서,상기 X 전극에 소거펄스를 인가하는 제 1 단계;상기 소거펄스가 종료된 후 상기 X 전극에 소정의 전압을 인가함과 동시에 상기 어드레스 전극에 소거펄스를 인가하여 상기 어드레스 전극과 상기 Y 전극 사이의 벽전하를 소거하는 제 2 단계; 및상기 X 전극에는 상기 제 2 단계에서 인가된 전압을 유지하며, 상기 Y 전극에는 상기 제 2 단계의 소거펄스 종료 후 상기 X 전극에 인가되는 전압보다 더 높은 전압을 인가하여 상기 어드레스 전극과 상기 Y 전극 사이에 방전을 일으킴으로써 초기 벽전하를 형성하는 제 3 단계;를 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 교류형 플라즈마 디스플레이의 명암비 향상방법.
