Claims (8)
- 제1광 빔을 생산하는 광원과, 상기 제1광 빔 경로 상에 배열되고 적어도 1개의 영상 표시 패널을 가지고 투영될 영상을 생성하는 반사 영상 표시 시스템과, 영상 표시 시스템에서 발생하는 제2광 빔 경로 상에 배열되어 상기 영상 표시 시스템에 의해 생성된 영상을 투영 스크린 상에 투영시키는 투영 렌즈 시스템을 구비하는 영상 투영 장치에 있어서, 상기 광원과 영상 표시 시스템간에 또한 상기 영상 표시 시스템과 투영 렌즈 시스템간에 제1매체로부터 제2매체로의 빔-분할 전이부가 제공되며, 이들 매체는 서로 다른 굴절률을 가지며, 상기 빔-분할 전이부는 제1및 제2광 빔 중 한 빔은 전부 반사 시키는 반면 다른 한 빔은 투과시키도록 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 투영 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 빔-분할 전이부는 공기와 투명 물질간의 인터페이스로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 투영 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 빔-분할 전이부는 프리즘의 두 마주보는 면 사이에서 공기층을 갖는 두개의 투명 프리즘으로 구성된 프리즘 시스템에 포함되는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 투영장치.
- 제1항 내지 3항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 영상 표시 시스템이 영상 정보에 따라서 상기 제2광 빔의 편광 방향을 변조시키며, 상기 광원에서 빔-분할 전이부까지의 방사 경로와, 또한 상기 전이부에서 투영 렌즈 시스템까지의 방사 경로에 편광-감지 빔 분할기가 제공되어 상기 광원에서 발생한 빔을 영상 표시 시스템으로 모두 입사되는 서로 수직으로 편광되는 두개의 서브 빔으로 분할하고 이 서브 빔들을 영상 정보에 따라 변조시킨후 재결합시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 투영 장치.
- 제1항 내지 3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 영상 표시 시스템은 영상 소자가 그룹으로 분할되는 복합 영상 표시 패널과 컬러-선택 소자를 구비하는 컬러 영상 표시 시스템이며, 상기 영상 소자 그룹 각각은 영상 소자의 관련 그룹에 속해 있는 컬러-선택 소자들의 색에 대응하는 주어진 색의 서브 영상을 생성시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 투영 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 컬러-선택 소자들은 다수의 컬러-선택 빔 분할기로 구성되어 광 빔을 서로 다른 색의 세 가지 단색 서브 빔으로 분할하고 단색 영상 정보로 변조된 상기 서브 빔들을 더하여 하나의 단색 영상 정보-변조된 광 빔으로 생성하며, 각 서브 빔 경로에는 개별 영상 표시 패널이 제공되어 상기 패널의 집합 영상 소자들이 상기 영상 소자 그룹 중 한 그룹을 구성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 투영 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 컬러 영상 표시 시스템은 영상 소자들이 그룹으로 배열되는 하나의 영상 표시 패널을 포함하며, 각 그룹은 소정의 컬러로 된 서브 영상을 생성하며, 각 영상 소자에는 컬러 필터가 제공되어 관련 영상 소자들이 속해 있는 해당 그룹에 의해 생성될 서브 영상의 컬러에 대응하는 컬러의 광만을 투과하는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 투영 장치.
- 제1항 내지 3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광원은 해당 수의 단색 광 빔을 방사하는 다수의 단색 광원들로 구성되며, 상기 광원들은 개별 컬러 채널들의 일부를 형성하며 상기 채널들 각각에는 단색 반사 영상 표시 패널과 빔-분할 전이부가 배열되어 있으며, 상기 투영 렌즈 시스템은, 단색 영상 정보-변조된 광 빔들을 결합하여 하나의 컬러 영상 정보-변조된 광 빔을 생성하는 컬러-선택 소자 시스템보다 앞에 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하고 컬러 영상을 투영하기 위한 영상 투영 장치.
