Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the durability by constituting a cloth which is to be adhered on the surface of a toothed part as that the cloth is made by laminating fabric having the superior insulating and wear-resistant characteristics and fabric having the superior adhesive characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A toothed belt 1 has tooth parts 3 formed at specific pitches at the internal side of the belt part 2 thereof and cloth 4 is fit on the surface of the tooth parts 3. The cloth 4 consists of both insulating fiber 6 at one side thereof and other fiber 7 having more superior adhesive characteristics with respect to the material of the body of the belt than the insulating fiber 6 has. The fiber 7 has the double weft yarn constitution. Fiber yarn of aromatic polyamid or the like which has poor adhesiveness to the body of the belt but remarkably superior insulating and wear-resistant characteristics can be used as the contact face with a pulley.

In order to solve such problems, for example,
Publication No. 6277 discloses that a knitted fabric made of heat-resistant aromatic hX polyamide fiber yarn is arranged on the surface of the toothed part of a rubber toothed belt in which a tensile member is embedded, with the one with the greater elongation extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt. A toothed belt has been proposed which is characterized by having a coating attached thereto.

However, in such toothed belts, the knitted fabric made of heat-resistant aromatic polyamide 145<41 yarns is directly attached to the belt body;
Due to the poor adhesion between the belt body and the belt body, if the belt is used for a long period of time, the belt body and the knitted fabric will peel off, so even if expensive aromatic polyamide fibers are used, they are not sufficiently effective! ? There was a serious problem that it could not be done.

The present invention is an attempt to solve the problems associated with such conventional techniques, and aims to provide a toothed belt that is less likely to cause shear cracks in the tooth profile and has excellent durability. This object is achieved by dramatically improving the adhesion between the heat-resistant aromatic polyamide fibers attached to the toothed portions of the toothed belt and the belt body.

As for the weaving structure, a layered structure is used in which different systems are used for the warp and weft yarns on the front and back sides, and either a single layered structure or a double layer structure is used, but a completely single layered fabric is used in which the warp and weft yarns on both the front and back sides are made from different systems. It is preferable to have a double structure made by simultaneously folding 2 layers of 2 layers together on top and bottom.

In this way, when the front and back surfaces of the fabric 4 provided on the surface having the toothed part 3 of the toothed belt 1 are made of different materials, and the structure of the fabric 4 is a knitted structure or a woven structure, the threads of each other are physically separated. Because they are tied together, it is possible to select threads by taking into consideration the adhesion between the belt body and the fabric as well as the heat and abrasion resistance of the fabric, without considering the adhesion between the threads. Therefore, it is possible to use fiber threads such as aromatic polyamide, which has excellent heat resistance and abrasion resistance, for the contact surface with the pulley, although it has poor contact properties with the belt body. As the other thread, a thread having better adhesion to the belt body than aromatic polyamide is used, and the surface constituted by this thread is brought into contact with the belt body.

In the present invention, since the fabric on both sides of the belt body is made of different yarns, it is provided on the toothed surface of the belt body, so it has excellent heat resistance and abrasion resistance. An excellent effect can be obtained in that it is possible to use a fabric in which a fiber yarn having poor adhesiveness is used as the contact surface with the belt pulley without considering the adhesiveness between the fiber yarn and the belt body.
