Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize an ink jet printer device, and to increase the speed of the device and drive the device by mounting a porous body onto the base of an ink tank. CONSTITUTION:Four independent ink tanks are formed by covering a carriage 12 with an ink tank cover 20, and porous bodies 22 made of a sintered resin are fitted into each ink tank. The carriage 12 is reciprocated along guide rails 14a, 14b on recording, and a predetermined signal is inputted to a heating element 19 and ink 24 is discharged from a nozzle slit section 17 in response to the generation of the bubbles of ink due to the heat generation of the heating element 19 and records. In the ink jet printer device, the oscillating wave front of the surface of a liquid generated by the reciprocation of the carriage collides with the porous bodies, and intrudes into the voids of the porous bodies, and an oscillating surface can be reduced by viscous friction with the voids. Accordingly, even when the carriage is moved frequently at high speed, the hydraulic pressure of ink hardly changes, thus minimizing an effect on ink at the nose of a nozzle.

において、従来はインクタンクをキャリッジ外に設け、
インクタンクと記録ヘッドをインク供給パイプを用いて
連通しインクタンク内のインクをポンプの駆動により供
給パイプな通し記録ヘッドに供給していた。

して供給パイプが移動する為供給パイプの結合部に応力
がかかる等の欠点を有しており、前記欠点を補う為には
機構が複雑化し機器を小型化するのに限界があった。

ような構成にすると、キャリッジが往復動すると加速に
よりインクタンク内のインクが揺動し、インク液圧が変
化する。インク液圧の変化は記録ヘッドのインクノズル
内のインクに伝わり、ノズル先端のインクメニスカスを
不安定にする。これは印字品質の低下の原因となる。ま
た、インクの揺動によりインクがノズル先端から漏出し
印字画面を汚すこともある。これらの欠点はインクジェ
ットプリンタ装置の駆動の高連化を妨げていた。

せることなく、インクジェットプリンタ装置の小型化お
よび高速駆動を可能ならしめるインクタンクを提供する
ことにある。

本発明の目的は以下に示すインクタンク饅によって達成

クにおいてインクタンク底面に多孔質体を着接して設け

設けられたインク供給口の弁はインクタンク内部にあり
、空気圧力の変化により開閉し、インクタンク内部の空
気圧力を一定に保つ。

タ装置においては、キャリッジの往復動により生じた液
面の揺動波面は多孔質体に当たり多孔質体の隙間に入り
込み隙間との粘性摩擦により揺動面を減少させることが
できる。従ってキャリッジの移動が高速でかつ繁雑に行
なわれても、インクの液圧変化は少なく、ノズル先端に
あるインクへの影響を最小限にすることができる。
