Conventionally, this type of window structure is explained using an automobile door window as an example. The relationship between a door sash formed in a channel shape and welded to the door body, and a door glass that is guided up and down by this door sash via a glass run. Since the door sash holds the peripheral edge of the door glass, the outside surface of the door sash inevitably protrudes to the outside of the vehicle from the general surface of the door glass, forming a step. (Sankaido version/
(Refer to page 92 of Automotive Engineering Complete Book, Vol. 13, "Passenger Car Body") This difference in level between the sash surface and the glass surface disrupts the airflow during driving, creating a so-called air cavity, which causes wind noise and turbulence in the airflow. It is well known that this increases the running air resistance and reduces the running performance.

In order to solve this problem, a glass guide that is offset in the width direction of the glass is glued to the peripheral edge of the door glass, and this glass guide is guided up and down the door frame via a glass run, so that the general surface of the door glass is A proposal has been made in which the door sill and the outside surface of the vehicle are made approximately flush with each other, thereby eliminating the above-mentioned step as much as possible.

However, with a structure in which the glass guide is bonded to the door glass like this, it is necessary to select a material for the glass guide that provides sufficient adhesive strength, and in order to stabilize the adhesive force. If there is a sufficient amount of adhesive between the glass guide and the door glass, the side visibility due to the door glass will be narrowed, which is not good for safe driving, and the window will look strange and the quality of the exterior will deteriorate. will also appear.

In order to achieve such an object, the present invention bends the edge of a wind panel as a window glass so as to be inclined toward the inside of the vehicle from the general surface of the panel, and at this bent portion, the wind sill is inserted through a glass run. The general surface of the wind panel and the exterior surface of the windshield are arranged so as to be located on substantially the same plane, so that the airflow during driving is disturbed along the smooth surface. The main purpose of this project is to eliminate the cause of wind noise and improve the aerodynamic characteristics of the vehicle.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, 1 is a door, 2 is a door main body, 3 is a door sash as a window sash, 4 is a glass run for sealing fitted in the door sash 3, and 5 is installed on the outside of the door sash.
A door weather strip 10 is a door glass serving as a window panel, which seals the interior and exterior of the vehicle by coming into elastic contact with the front pillar 6, roof side rail 7, and center pillar 8, which are panels that constitute the door opening periphery of the vehicle body. Its edge is bent 10b from the general surface 10a toward the passenger compartment side, and at this bent portion 10b it comes into elastic contact with the seal lips 4a, 4a of the glass run 4, and is guided up and down. The vehicle exterior side surface 3a of the door sash 3 and the door glass general surface 10a are arranged so as to be located on one substantially smooth surface (which may be a flat or curved surface) P.

The line of sight between the door glass 10 and the glass run 4 depends only on the amount of protrusion of the glass run 4, and there is nothing between the door glass 10 and the sash 3 side that obstructs the view. In addition, door sash 3
shows an example of a breath door sash, which includes an outer sash 30 integrally molded with the outer panel of the door body 2, an inner sash 32 integrally molded with the inner panel of the door body 2, and each of these outer and inner sashes 30. , 32 and a U-shaped connector 34 forming a glass run holding part. The connector 34 is formed such that its bottom wall 34a is approximately perpendicular to the glass bent portion 10b so that the bent portion 10b of the door glass 10 and the glass run 4 can secure sufficient sealing performance.

With this configuration, the door glass faces the door sash 3 via the glass run so as to exhibit sufficient elevating guiding performance and sealing performance, and the general glass surface 10a and the exterior side surface 3a of the door sash 3 form one smooth surface. Since it is located above and continuous, the airflow (indicated by the arrow) is less likely to be disturbed during driving, and wind noise is also less likely to occur. At the same time, aerodynamic characteristics are improved, and fuel efficiency and other driving performance can be improved.

However, no matter what, door glass 10
Since a separate part such as a glass guide is not installed as in the past, the field of view is uniquely determined by the glass run 4 on the door sash side into which the glass is fitted, and the parting line Q extends rearward, reducing the field of view. On the other hand, since there is no separate glass guide, there is no need to consider the glass guide material, adhesive, adhesive strength, etc., and productivity is good.

It should be noted that forming the bent portion 10b of the door glass 10 is fully possible with the current technological level, and if a transparent or semi-transparent acrylic plate is used as the window panel, the moldability is even better, and it is suitable for mass production such as automobiles. Perfect for things.

As is clear from the above, according to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a window structure that is good in terms of wind noise and aerodynamic characteristics without attaching any guide parts to the wind panel, and it also solves the difficulty of material selection. There is no need to take this into account, it is inexpensive, it is highly productive, and the side visibility is sufficiently ensured, and the practical effect is great.
