Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a chromate film excellent in corrosion resistance and electric conductivity at ordinary temp. by treating the surface of metal or metallic alloy with chromate treatment liquid contg. chromium compd. phosphoric compd. and copper compd. CONSTITUTION:The surface of metal or metallic alloy is treated with chromate treatment liquid contg. chromium compd., phosphoric compd. and copper compd. as an essential component. As the above-mentioned chromium compd., about 0.1-3.0g/l chromic acid anhydride or about 0.2-6.0g/l dischromate is used. Further as phosphoric compds., phosphoric acid or sodium hydrogenphosphate, etc., is used and concn. of about 0.005-2.0g/l phosphate ion is suitable. As copper compd., copper oxide or copper carbonate, etc., is used and concn. of about 0.1-3.0g/l copper ion is suitable. pH of the chromate treatment liquid is properly regulated to 2.0 or more and a material to be treated which has metal or metallic alloy e.g. copper or copper alloy at least on the outer surface is immersed therein at about 20-50 deg.C treatment temp. and thereafter it is washed with water and dried.
