PURPOSE:To eliminate deterioration in coupling efficiency and to obtain superior reliability for a long period by inserting and holding both an optical element holder which holds an optical element and a ferrule which holds an optical fiber in the insertion hole of a sleeve for connection. CONSTITUTION:A ferrule insertion hole 11 and a holder insertion hole 12 which are slightly eccentric with the center axis of the sleeve 10 for connection in the opposite directions are formed in one end and the other end of the sleeve 10, and they are linked with each other in the sleeve 10. At the time of loading, a light emitting element 31 is fixed in the light emitting holder 32 eccentrically with the center and an optical fiber element wire 2 is inserted and fixed in the optical fiber insertion hole 21 of the ferrule 20. Then the ferrule 20 is inserted into the ferrule insertion hole 11, the light emitting element holder 32 is inserted into the holder insertion hole 12, and the ferrule 20 and light emitting element holder 32 are rotated and fixed where maximum efficiency is obtained. Consequently, there is no deterioration in coupling efficiency and the superior reliability is obtained for a long period.
