Abstract

PURPOSE:To develop a powder sintered alloy excellent in wear resistance as well as in corrosion resistance to halogen gas, by subjecting an Ni-base alloy having a composition in which Si, B, and Cu are added to an Ni-Cr-Mo alloy with a specific composition to crushing by the gas atomizing method. CONSTITUTION:A molten Ni-base master alloy having a composition consisting of, by weight, 1.2-4.9% Si, 23.4-49.3% Mo, 0.5-5.6% Cu, and the balance Ni is crushed by the gas atomizing method. Subsequently, powder of Cr, B, or alloys, such as CrB and Cr2B, is added to the above alloy powder and the resulting powder mixture is sintered at high temp., by which an Ni-base sintered alloy having a composition consisting of 1.0-3.5% Si, 0.6-6.0% B, 14-24% Cr, 14-35% Mo, 0.4-4.0% Cu, and the balance Ni and excellent in corrosion resistance and wear resistance, particularly in corrosion resistance to halogen gas such as F can be obtained.
