Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the usage of Ca(OH)2, a secondary neutralization agent by making CO2 saturated overflow liquid, which is primarily neutralized by adding calcium carbonate to acidic waste liquid, in contact with air, discharging CO2, adding Ca(OH)2 and carrying out secondary neutralization. CONSTITUTION:Calcium carbonate is added to acidic waste liquid containing heavy metal group and primary neutralization is carried out. Then, the waste liquid is separated into concentrated liquid containing gypsum formed through a thickener and CO2 saturated overflow liquid. Said CO2 saturates overflow liquid is made in contact with air or N2 gas to discharge CO2. Further, Ca(OH)2 is added to the overflow liquid from which CO2 is discharged and secondary neutralization is carried out, and then said liquid is separated into concentrated liquid containing heavy metal precipitates and the overflow liquid through a thickener, and said concentrated liquid is treated with a filter press to separate the heavy metal precipitates as sludge.
