Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce glass thickness of a curtain wall by allowing a space surrounded by a spandrel wall or a thick plate glass and a heat reflecting glass to communicate with atmospheric air and approximating pressure in the space to atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION: An upper glass receiving frame 5a and a lower glass receiving frame 5b are disposed above and below a spandrel wall 1, and a heat ray reflecting glass 4 is mounted between the glass receiving frames 5a, 5b. Vent holes 6, 7 for allowing a space surrounded by the spandrel wall 1 and the heat ray reflecting glass 4 to communicate with atmospheric air are provided in the upper glass receiving frame 5a and at the same time drain holes 8, 9 for draining penetrating rain water and condensate water are provided in the lower glass receiving frame 5b. Therefore, by setting diameters of the vent holes 6, 7 and the drain hoes 8, 9 to appropriate diameters, pressure in the space C can be brought close to the atmospheric pressure so that concrete of the wall 1 can be made to support most part of the atmospheric pressure.
