Abstract

PURPOSE:To test the bending performance of a metallic pipe including a different-material connection part by actual pipe bending by curving the metallic pipe wherein a bar material with large rigidity is inserted at prescribed pressure points and support points. CONSTITUTION:The round bar material E with large rigidity is inserted into the hollow part D of the metallic pipe to be tested in a contact state, a couple of pressure points are set at an equal lengthwise distance L from the connection part C between metallic pipes A and B so that L>=2X2y, and a couple of support points are set further at an equal lengthwise distance L. Then parallel mechanical reciprocal forces are applied to the pressure points and support points to curve and deform the metallic pipe in one direction. The conditions at the time of curving deformation are so set that bending stress sigma=E.y/R and bending moment M=EI/R, where R is the radius, (y) the radius of the connection part C at an external surface position, E the Young's modulus, and I the sectional secondary moment at the time of a column.
