Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate a secular change in an oxygen sensor by judging a driving range where output of the oxygen sensor becomes a maximum value and another driving range where it becomes a minimum value, and compensating a reference value in air-fuel ratio feedback control on the basis of the these maximum and minimum values found at both driving ranges. CONSTITUTION:Each detected value of an air flow sensor 11, a crank angle sensor, a throttle sensor 14, an idle switch 15, an oxygen sensor 17, etc., is inputted into an electronic control unit ECU which controls valve opening time of a fuel injection valve 8. When this electronic control unit ECU judges these facts that a fuel-cut area is continued for more than half a second and an area where engine load exceeds the specified value is continued for more than half a second as well, it regards the detected value of the oxygen sensor 17 as becoming the maximum value or the minimum value each, taking in the detected value of the oxygen sensor 17 at both area. On the basis of these two detected values, a reference value in air-fuel ratio feedback control is compensated.
