Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of a navigation function by correcting the current position of a vehicle every time the vehicle passes a specific structure. CONSTITUTION:A current position recognizing means 6 recognizes the current position of the vehicle on a map according to the outputs of a current position measuring means 2 and a map information recording means 4. A real position structure specifying means 12 specifies a real position structure according to the output of a specific structure deciding means 10 which decides the presence of the specific structure with the output of an earth magnetism sensor 8. A current position correcting means 14 corrects the current position on the map which is recognized by the current position recognizing means 6 into the position of the real position structure according to the output of the real position structure specifying means 12.
