Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a power source, by suppressing power consumption due to a dummy resistor at a minimum level by varying the value of the dummy resistor corresponding to a load. CONSTITUTION:The secondary side of a transformer T is connected to the load Z via the dummy resistor RD, and the emitter and the collector of a PNP transistor TR1 are connected in a forward direction in parallel with the dummy resistor RD. When a load voltage Vo is increased, potential is generated between the (+) and (-) input terminals of an operational amplifier Ic1, and the base current of a transistor TR2 is increased, thereby, the collector current i3 of the transistor TR2 is increased. In the transistor TR1, the current i2 moving from the emitter to the collector is increased by the increase of the base current i3, and an input voltage Vi is transmitted to the load Z without being affected by the dummy resistor RD, then it goes to i=Vo. In such a way, since voltage drop due to the dummy resistor RD is eliminated, the efficiency of the power source can be improved.
