Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent buckling of a wooden beam member by externally fitting a reinforcement formed of a thick steel channel member which is formed by cutting and raising erect acute projections at predetermined intervals from a bottom wall between right and left sides, onto the lower edge of the wooden beam, along the entire longitudinal length thereof. CONSTITUTION: A single structure material 2 for use in a wood frame construction is employed as a reinforced beam 1 to which a reinforcement 3 is fixed in one body. The reinforcement 3 is integrally molded to a long U-shaped channel member such that the right and left ends of a thick steel plate are upwardly bent to obtain right and left side plates 4 with a lower surface bottom wall 5 therebetween, to thereby form a groove 6. Further, acute projections 7 are formed on the bottom wall 5 at predetermined intervals, and the lower edge of the structure member 2 is inserted into the groove 6 of the reinforcement 3, to thereby tightly externally fit the reinforcement onto the structure member over the entire longitudinal length so as to cover the structure. Further, the acute projections 7 are driven and force-fitted onto the bottom surface of the structure member 2. In such a manner, buckling of the reinforced beam 1 can be prevented, whereby vertical load resistance can drastically be enhanced.
