Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the temp. distribution in a molded sheet glass constant and to continuously form the products of the same shape by press-bending a sheet glass, discharging the glass from a mold, and blowing air onto the molding surface of the mold to cool the surface to a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:The upper and lower dies 3 and 4 are respectively positioned at the upper and lower parts, and the sheet glass G heated to a temp. close to the softening temp. by a heating furnace 1 is drawn out above the lower die 4 to bend the sheet glass G. The lower die 4 is raised to receive the sheet glass G, and the sheet glass G is bent between two dies 3 and 4. After bending is finished, the dies 3 and 4 are respectively raised and lowered, and the sheet glass G is discharged. Air is injected from the nozzles 12, ... provided at the parts close to the edge between the molding surfaces of the dies 3 and 4 and which are not brought into contact with the sheet glass G in press molding to cool the contact materials 11 stuck on the molding surfaces of the dies 3 and 4 to a specified temp.
