Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare phenyl ethers in high yield by the etherification of monovalent phenols with methanol, etc. at a higher temperature by 5 - 100°C than the boiling point of the phenols in the presence of a specific catalyst such as kaolin-type minerals having good activity and selectivity.
