The method of thinning the body part is generally by polishing.
Although the work required considerable effort, it was not possible to obtain a uniform finish, and polishing the boundary between the blade and the body required skill, which was an obstacle to mass production.

This invention solves the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks, and its purpose is to eliminate the polishing work to make the body part thinner.
To provide a method for manufacturing a saw, in which it is sufficient to pass the saw material through a chemical jet tunnel, the process is extremely simple and easy, there is no need for scavenging (blade swinging), and there is no variation in the thickness of the part to be made thin. It is in.

The details of this invention will be explained below based on the embodiments shown in the attached drawings. In Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, A is a saw material obtained from a thin steel plate, and the illustrated material is an example of a saw for pruning. It is.

The coating 3a on the part where a cutting edge is to be formed is not continuous, and in the part corresponding to each cutting edge 5, it is applied only to the part corresponding to an odd number of cutting edges on one side, and to the part corresponding to an even number of cutting edges on the cutting side. shall be covered only. The saw material A obtained as described above is sprayed with a steel corrosive solution such as ferric chloride solution, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, or hydrochloric acid at 30°C. The spraying time depends on the type of saw, but for carpenter's double-edged saws, spray for about 10 minutes and then rinse with water.
In FIGS. 3 to 5, A-1 shows a product in which the coating 3 has been removed after washing with water and a number of cutting edges 5 have been formed on the blade portion 1, and the metal exposed portion other than the portion covered with the coating is shown. That is, the body portion 4a has been corroded and its wall thickness has become thinner, and the other side of each cutting blade 5 for odd numbered ones has corroded and one side for even numbered ones has been corroded and its wall thickness has become thinner. Figures 4 and 5
As shown in the figure, the condition is the same as when the cutting blade has been subjected to asari (blade swinging). a shows the corroded surface of the cutting edge 5. This invention is a manufacturing method as described above, in which the part where the blade is to be formed and the handle part of the saw material are covered with a corrosion-resistant coating and corroded with a steel corrosive solution, so that the parts other than the parts where the coating was present are coated with a corrosion-resistant coating. The entire surface of the part, especially the body part, is corroded and the wall thickness becomes small, and the thickness of this part is uniform, and the coating of the part 1 where the blade is to be formed is on one side in the part corresponding to each cutting blade. The coating is missing on the part corresponding to either the odd or even cutting edge, and the coating on the other side is missing on the part corresponding to the other cutting edge, so the parts corresponding to each cutting edge are alternately opposite. The side is corroded, and this state is the same as when the back surface side of each cutting blade is depressed (blade swing). Therefore, according to this method, each cutting blade of the finished saw has a scab (scroll). This has the effect of significantly simplifying the manufacturing process since there is no need to perform blade swinging.
