ードが無理に曲げられたり、こすられることによってコ
ードのくせが変形したり内部応力が変化し、このことに
よりコードの均一性がみだれてカール、キンク、フレア
性不良が起り、さらには、コードの表面に施弧されたメ
ッキがけずり取られる等の原因となり、ゴムの補強材と
してこれら撚線を用いた場合充分その機能を果し得ない
という欠点がある。このため、従来の撚線機においては
上記欠点を少なくするように素線や撚線コード通過部の
抵抗を極力小さくするために、ターンローラーの直・径
を大きクシ、シかも数を少なくしたり、表面処理を施し
てローラー表面をなめらかにしたり、さらにはコiドを
クレードルの回りに回転させるときの形状を円孤状にす
るため弓状ガイドを設けたりしているが、末だ充分効果
