Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to fill the tire with a liquid filler material without drilling a hole in the tread of the tire by a method wherein a filling valve communicating with an air chamber of the tire through a wheel rim, an exhaust pipe is passed through the filling valve and the liquid filler material is injected into the tire through the filling valve while air is discharged from the exhaust pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The filling valve 5 communicating with the air chamber 6 of the tire 1 mounted in the wheel rim 3 is provided through the rim and the exhaust pipe 10 is passed through the filling valve 5 in such a manner that one open end of the exhaust pipe 10 confronts the inner peripheral surface of the tire 1. For filling the liquid filler material, air is injected into the air chamber 6 at a suitable pressure and then the liquid filler material is injected into the tire while the air in the tire is discharged from the exhaust pipe. Thus, when the filler material overflows the exhaust pipe 10, the filling of the filler material is once interrupted and after the exhaust pipe 10 is pulled out from the filling valve 5 and the hole which has been occupied by the pipe is closed, the filler material is again injected from the valve 5 until the pressure in the tire reaches a predetermined value and the filler material is thereafter hardened.
