Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a bearing from excessive thrust load by inserting a resilient member into a face where the outer ring of a roller bearing and the bearing box are fitted.
CONSTITUTION: A resilient member 4 of a roller bearing device 4 is inserted into the groove of a bearing box 3 prior to the assembling of the bearing device, then an adhesives is supplied to secure the resilient member 4 in the groove thus to prevent the axial movement. After fitting the outer ring 10 of the bearing 2 with the bearing box 3, the outer ring 10 and the resilient member 4 are bonded through an adhesives thus to complete the insertion of the resilient member 4. Since the bearing box 3 and the outer ring 10 of the roller bearing 2 are adhered through the resilient member 4, the thermal expansion of the shaft 1 is facilitated due to the axial deformation of the resilient member 4 thereby the roller bearing 2 is protected from the excessive thrust load.
