Abstract
PURPOSE:To discriminate the normality of abnormality of a load with a simple circuit constitution, by inverting a control signal, which turns on and off a switch element, for a short time and by monitoring the state of a monitor signal obtained from the connection point between the load and the switch element. CONSTITUTION:A monitor signal SM obtained through a resistance R1 from a connection point A between a load lamp 1 and a switch element 2 of series connection is inputted to an exclusive OR gate 3. A signal SC which turns on and off the switch element 2 is inputted to the gate 3 also. If the load 1 and the switch element 2 are normal, the signal SM is 0 when the signal SC is 1, and the signal SM is 1 when the signal SC is 0. If the load 1 is disconnected or the switch element 2 is short-circuited, the signal SM is 1; and if the load is short-circuited or the switch element 2 is disconnected, the signal SM is 0. If the signal SC is changed from 1 to 0 or from 0 to 1 for a short time, an FF6 is reset when an output signal SE of the gate 3 is changed from 1 to 0, and thus the abnormality of the load and the switch element is discriminated when the Q output of the FF6 is 1; and a fault of either of the load and the switch element is discrminated when the Q output is 0.
