Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce an article having a high luster by a method wherein a liquid material of a thermoplastic synthetic resin is coated on a desired part of a mold in a specified thickness, then it is dried and is integrally bonded to a substrate in the form of a film.
CONSTITUTION: A solution of a synthetic resin is coated on either the entire part or the desired part of a mold surface 12 of a lower mold 9 in a desired thickness by spraying or the like, and a solvent or the like is evaporated to produce a surface layer 51 of 0.01W2.0mm in thickness. A cavity 10 is formed by clampling the lower mold 9 and an upper mold 8 to each other, and a substrate-forming synthetic resin kneaded with a filler is charged in its molten state into the cavity 10 by an injection cylinder 14 to form the substrate. The substrate-forming synthetic resin is charged into the cavity 10 while melting a part of an exposed surface of the surface layer 51 or solftening the entire part of the surface layer 51, without melting the entire part of the surface layer 51. As a result, a mixed layer consisting of the resins of the layer 51 and the substrate is produced at the joint surface of the layer 51 and the substrate, followed by cooling. Accordingly, an article in which a surface layer 51 excellent in smoothness and luster is bonded onto the surface of a substrate can be obtained.
