Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a resin compsn. for paints, which has excellent adhesion, corrosion resistance, etc., by mixing a specified polyester resin, an N-acylpolylactam compd. and/or an N-acylpolyimide compd. and an epoxy resin together.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. Polyester resin having a softening point of -10W180°C, a hydroxyl value of 0W100 and a carboxyl value of 0W200 obtd. by reacting a polyhydric alcohol such as ethylene glycol or glycerol with a polybasic carboxylic acid such as phthalic acid, 5W40pts.wt. N-acylpolylactam compd. such as isophthaloyl bis (N-caprolactam) and/or N-acylpolyimide compd. such as adipolybis (N-succinimide, and 1W30wt% (based on the total amount of compsn.) epoxy resin, are mixed together to produce the desired resin compsn. for paints.
