Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a hermetic vessel of high reliability by combining a base plate and a cover body having plating layers respectively, providing a spacing part in the deep part of the combined part, and irradiating laser light to the mated parts. CONSTITUTION:Focusing laser light 17 is irradiated to the outside circumferential part 18 of a base plate 10 of a circular shape and the flange part 14 of a cover body 12. Then, two different molten parts 20, 21 are formed. The part 20 formed on the outside circumferential part is mainly the part where the plate 10 and the body 12 per se fuse to each other. The other part 21 is the part where respective plating layers 11a, 11b fuse to each other, and goes into a space part 16. Thereupon, the abutting length l on the laser light 17 side is taken at the depth of penetration, and further the part 16 is provided, by which the metal of the layers 11a, 11b is separated from the part 20, and the gas produced in the part 21 is escaped into the space part 16, whereby the part 21 is made pore-free and dense. Hence, the strength of the resultant hermetic vessel 10 is surely assured by the part 21 and the maintenance of airtightness by the part 21.
