Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the fuel cost during idling by disposing, at a movable stator portion which has a variable blade angle, a spring for urging the movable stator portion in a direction to increase the blade angle so that, upon stalling, the blade angle may be increased to reduce the torque capacity.
CONSTITUTION: A fixed stator rotary blade 17 is formed between a stator hub 7' adjacent a turbine 2 and a core ring 9, and a movable stator rotary blade 4' pivotally mounted on a stator shaft 10' is disposed behind the fixed stator rotary blade 17. The stator shaft 10' has secured thereto a blade 12' which receives a flow of fluid caused by a turbine core inner blade 16 disposed at the same blade angle with the turbine 2 and which promotes reduction of the blade angle of the movable stator rotary blade 4' during rotation at a low speed. A spring 13' for exerting an urging force in a direction to increase the blade angle is interposed between an engaging projection 22 of the stator hub 7' and another engaging projection 21 of a movable race 19 which is engaged by a pin 24 of the movable stator rotaty blade 4'.
