Abstract
PURPOSE:To constitute a device main body very compactly without requiring a photoconduction system, by locating a lighting source at the back of a photodetection element and using an optical beam through the elements. CONSTITUTION:An original 29 moves on a photo detector 12 with feeding roller 30. A number of the detectors 12 are arranged on a transparent base 11 with prescribed intervals. The light from a light source 24 transmits the base 11, illuminates on the original through the element 12, and the reflected opticall beam is incident to the elements 12. Thus, moving originals 29 is read. With this constitution, a signal which is not effected with the accuracy of the location of light source and depends on the amount of reflected optical beam of the original is picked up efficiently. Furthermore, in this constitution, no optical system like lens system or photoconductive system like fiber array are required.
