Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a tool shank holder applicable to two kinds of tool shank with different pull stud shape, by providing a tightening mechanism for two kinds of pull stud in the tool shank holder in an automatic tool changer device.
CONSTITUTION: The drawing shows a state of holding a tool shank 20 having a long pull stud 21a, in which a slider 38 pressed downward by a spring 43 presses steel balls 45 toward the inside in a hole 44 of the intenally peripheral surface of a drawing shaft 40 to adapt the ball to a tapered part 22a of the pull stud and hold the pull stud. At the time of release when the slider is hydraulically moved upward in a cylinder 39, the ball is relieved to a groove 59, further a cylinder 35 is actuated to move a strut 52 downward to press out the pull stud. In case of a tool shank having a short pull stud, a pawl 46 is adapted to its tapered part to hold the tool shank. The pawl 46 is swingable and is relieved to the outside when the tool shank is moved in and out.
