Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a detector which is excellent in sensitivity and is reduced in an absorption loss at especially a low energy part, by a method wherein glass fibers or carbon fiber reinforced plastic is used at a radiation entrance part. CONSTITUTION:A receptacle 3, formed in an arc of a circle, incorporates electrode plates for detecting a signal and high-tension voltage bias electrode plates. The receptacle 3 consists of a case 10, and a cover 4, made of glass or carbon fiber reinforced plastic, and is filled with a high-pressure gas, such as xenon. A thickness of a part 10b of a radiation entrance part 10a is thinned to reduce a radiation absorption loss. Said reinforced plastic fiber is excellent in conductivity, and this prevents the occurrence of deterioration in performance due to disorder of an electric field at the inside resulting from the electrification. This reduces a radiation absorption loss, enables the constitution of a detector which is reduced in a loss at a low-energy part, and the detector is suitable for use with a computer-tomography.
