Abstract
PURPOSE:To make isokinetic suction possible in spite of the case when one of parallel measuring systems stops by providing by-pass lines to the respective measuring systems. CONSTITUTION:The gas sampled by an isokinetic suction probe 2 from an exhaust cylinder 1 is conducted via a piping 3 to parallel measuring systems. Granular radioactive materials and iodine are captured with a capturing device 5, and gaseous radioactive materials are measured with a gas sampler 8. The flow rate is controlled to a constant rate with a flow rate controller 9 to make the velocity of flow at the inlet of the isokinetic suction probe constant. In ordinary measurement, the device is used by holding valves 4, 6 open and a valve 7 close. At the time of calibrating the measuring systems or measuring the level of background radiations, the valve 6 is closed and the valves 7, 11 are opened. Since the flow rate is controlled by a flow rate controller 12 constituted by a needle valve and a flow rate indicator as to be remained unchanged as a total, isokinetic sampling is made possible irrespectively of the operating conditions.
