Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a light weighted and of high-strength synthetic resin frame for a seat by filling a bubble blown spongelike material such as an urethane resin etc. into a hollow portion of a blow-molded seat.
CONSTITUTION: A synthetic resin frame 1 is blow-molded with material such as a reinforced plastics of a glass fiber mixture etc. and its seat portion frame 2, back frame 3 and edge portion 4 are molded into one body. The seat frame 2 etc. are provided with a multiple hollow portions 7 separated or half-separated by a groove 5 or a concave 6, and the hollow portion 7 is provided with a parallel front wall 8 and a back wall 9. When blow-molding the frame, a low or a highly bubbled synthetic resin 10 such as bubbled urethane resin material is poured into the hollow portion 7. By this construction, the second moment of area of each part of a cross- section gets increased for the deformation of the hollow portion 7 to be prevented therewith, and yet the weight of the frame will not increase so much because of the low specific weight of the bubbled synthetic resin. Furthermore, the bubbled synthetic resin can be filled into only such portion where the strength is needed.
