Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance rolling fatique strength of the titled steel obtained by limiting a Te/S ratio of steel with a specific composition containing C, Si, Mn, S, Te, Cr, O.
CONSTITUTION: This high carbon steel for a rolling bearing has a following composition and is one of which a Te/S ratio is limited to 0.1W1.0. That is, it has a composition containing 0.8W1.2% C, 0.05W1.0% Si, 0.20W2.0% Mn, below 0.015% S, below 0.10% Te, 0.8W2.0% Cr, below 0.0012% O, further, according to necessity 0.05W0.50% Mo and comprising the remainder of Fe and inevitable impurities. Said steel of which Si, Te, O and Te/S are limited has excellent rolling life.
