Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the adhesion strength of a baking measuring electrode with a solid electrolyte by providing the second baking electrode by vapor deposition to only on a baking measuring electrode employing a cermet.
CONSTITUTION: Two diaphragm layer materials 11a and 11b are arranged to form a diaphragm layer 11 able to retain a proper strength as substrate, and a heat generating body 15 is placed therebetween. Then, a reference electrode 12 is provided by screen printing or the like. The reference electrode 12 is made of a material, such as Ni-NiO2, which generates a reference oxygen partial pressure. To laminate oxygen ion conducting solid electrolyte 13, a solid electrolyte, for example, a pastelike mixed powder of ZrO2-Y2O3, ZrO2-CaO and the like is laid by screen printing. After the solid electrolyte 13 is dried, a measuring electrode 14 is laminated employing a cermet material. Subsequently, a masking is applied opening only on the measuring electrode 14, a second measuring electrode 16 is provided by vapor deposition.
