Abstract

PURPOSE:To indicate occurrence of burn-out accurately by applying burn-out voltage to an operational amplifier for measurement when one of conductors of a three- wire temperature measuring resistance is burnt out, and making the output to a saturated state. CONSTITUTION:A temperature measuring resistance, a constant-voltage electric power supply and a resistance are connected in series, and both ends of the resistance are connected to the input terminals of an operational amplifier exclusively used for detecting burn-out. It is so made that by the action of this operational amplifier, burn-out voltage is applied to an operational amplifier for measurement at the time of burn-out and the output is saturated. For instance, a Zener diode 1 is connected in series with a resistance and a temperature measuring resistance R(t) and the output of an operational amplifier IC3 is so adjusted that it makes a field transistor T off in a normal state, and makes on to apply burn-out voltage (+)V to (-) input terminal of an operational amplifier IC2 at the time of burn-out. Thus, the output is saturated and accordingly, the occurrence of burn-out can be detected accurately.
