Abstract
PURPOSE:To find the thermal conductivity of a fluid sample simply with high accuracy, by using a heating body such as a thermistor etc. and an element having a temperature measuring function and also, another temperature measuring element and evaluating the Nusselt number of the heating body. CONSTITUTION:A heating body 4 consisting of a thermistor is heated by turning on an electric current by a constant-current power supply 7 and the temperature of generated heat is found by the relation between a standard resistance 8 and the value of resistance variation due to heat generation of the body 4. Further, the calorific value is found by the relation between both ends voltage of the body 4 and transmitted electric current. The data of the calorific value of the body 4 found through a potentiometer 9, the temperature of generated heat of the body 4 and detected temperature of a fluid sample 1 in a vessel 2 provided in a thermostat 3 which is detected by temperature measuring elements 5, 6 under a stationary condition, are put into a data processor 10. Then, the Nusselt number of the body 4 is computed from the difference of each temperature of the sample 1 and the generated heat and the heat conductivity of the sample 1 is found based on the Nusselt number, temperature difference and calorific value.
