CONSTITUTION:Treatments for surface activation such as a treatment by corona discharging, a frame treatment, a treatment by glow discharging, a treatment with chromic acid or a treatment by ultraviolet rays etc. are performed on the surface of a plastic substrate such as a polyethylene plate and an urea resin plate etc. A prescribed shape of electrode consisting of a coating film such as indium oxide and tin oxide etc. is formed by a vacuum depositing method and an ion plating method etc. on the substrate on which surface activating treatments are performed. A coating film for insulation and orientation is provided on the electrode and further a pair of plastic electrode plate on which the coating film is provided is treated for orientation, and then it is assembled in a cell, and an aimed liquid crystal display device is obtained by pouring a liquid crystal.
